Parvin Smith, bass
Parvin Smith began his orchestral career with viola lessons in 4th grade. After studying viola, violin, cello, bass, clarinet, and trumpet, he decided on the bass as his major instrument. Mr. Smith has performed as a bassist for symphonies in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas, serving as Principal Bassist for several of them. Mr. Smith is currently a bassist with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and Principal Bassist with the Lawton Philharmonic.
Mr. Smith began his teaching career at Classen School of Advanced Studies in Oklahoma City. He came to Mid-Del in the Fall of 1999 as an Assistant Orchestra Director. In the Fall of 2001 Mr. Smith became the Head Orchestra Director for Mid-Del Public Schools.
