Dr. Katrin Stamatis – A native New Yorker, Katrin is principal second violin, McCasland Foundation Chair for the OKCPHIL. She attended Barnard College for undergrad in a joint program with Manhattan School of Music and received a Masters from Mannes College and Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma.  She lives in Norman, OK with her husband, OKCPHIL principal cellist Jonathan Ruck and their two daughters. She maintains an active musical career that includes performance, research and pedagogy, and has served on faculty for academies across the country while maintaining a private studio in Norman. She is also on faculty for the Summer String Academy at OU.

Besides playing for the OKCPHIL, what are some highlights of your performing career.

In Manhattan I performed with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Chelsea Symphony, and toured internationally to France, Italy, and Puerto Rico. Locally I perform with Brightmusic chamber ensemble.
