Oklahoma City – Prepare to be dazzled by the world’s greatest and most authentic ABBA show when, ARRIVAL From Sweden: The Music of Abba performs with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic on Friday, November 1, and Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. at the Civic Center Music Hall. Tickets are on sale now at okcphil.org.
This production has all the features a great ABBA show needs: lovely costumes, extremely talented musicians, and breathtaking singers. Hits like: “Dancing Queen,” “Momma Mia,” “Does Your Mother Know,” “Take A Chance,” “SOS,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Super Trouper,” “Money, Money, Money,” “Waterloo,” “Honey, Honey,” “Fernando,” “Chiquitita,” Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Thank You For The Music,” “Lay All Your Love On Me,” “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!,” and many more will be delivered with such accuracy that it’s hard to believe that it’s not the real ABBA on stage.
ARRIVAL From Sweden is the only group to have been given a previously unreleased ABBA song directly from Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of ABBA. The song “Just A Notion” was released by ARRIVAL From Sweden in 1999 and by the original ABBA in 2021 on their latest record, “Voyage.”
“When I was a kid, ABBA was the only band my parents allowed me to listen to outside of classical music. When I think of ABBA it is an exhilarating time for me,” said Alexander Mickelthwate, Music Director of the OKC Philharmonic. “Because of my affection for ABBA, I made it part of my pancake breakfasts with my sons growing up. This is going to be a fantastic concert.”
Dancing and music will continue in the Civic Center Music Hall, so come prepared for an after party! Tickets range from $24 to $109, with student pricing available at $11 with a valid ID. For ticket purchases, contact the OKC Philharmonic box office at (405) 842-5387 or purchase online at okcphil.org.
ARRIVAL From Sweden: The Music of ABBA is sponsored by Dr. Margaret Freede, in Loving Memory of Dr. Henry and Josephine Freede.
