Masters of Music: Italy

Experience the Grandeur of Italian Orchestral Mastery
Saturday, March 14, 2026 | 7:30 p.m. | Civic Center Music Hall

Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City Philharmonic invites audiences to journey through the romantic streets, sun-drenched countryside, and majestic cathedrals of Italy with Masters of Music: Italy on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Music Hall.

Under the baton of Music Director Alexander Mickelthwate, the evening will feature internationally acclaimed pianist Fei-Fei, whose electrifying artistry and poetic sensitivity have captivated audiences worldwide. Fei-Fei will perform Alfredo Casella’s vibrant Scarlattiana, a dazzling concerto inspired by the keyboard works of Domenico Scarlatti, blending virtuosic brilliance with Italian charm.

The program also includes Verdi’s powerful La Forza del Destino Overture, Albinoni’s hauntingly beautiful Adagio in G Minor, and culminates in Respighi’s sweeping and cinematic Roman Festivals. Each work captures a different facet of Italy’s cultural and musical legacy — from grand opera houses to intimate baroque elegance and symphonic spectacle.

“Italian music has this unmistakable fire and color,” said Alexander Mickelthwate, Music Director of the OKCPHIL. “With Fei-Fei’s extraordinary artistry and this vivid program, audiences will feel transported — as if walking through Rome or sitting in a Tuscan garden. This concert is about experiencing Italy through sound.”

Whether you’re an aficionado of the classics or a newcomer to orchestral music, Masters of Music: Italy offers a stirring evening of romance, power, and poetic beauty — performed live by the OKC Philharmonic’s world-class musicians.
