We love music, and we love helping students learn and explore the beauty of music, too. The OKCPHIL offers a variety of educational opportunities, including in-class programs and orchestral concerts. Youth Concerts
2nd – 6th Grades, +Beginning Band/Orchestra
Civic Center Music Hall
Concert dates for the 2023-2024 Season will be announced soon!
The full OKCPHIL Orchestra on the Civic Center Music Hall stage. This 45-minute concert showcases the sights and sounds of the symphony orchestra and highlights each instrument within its musical family. To receive updates regarding program registration, be sure to enroll in the Educator’s Club!
In-School Ensemble Performances
3rd – 5th grades
*New this season – Target grade levels are being expanded to 3rd – 5th. Multiple performances for one school can be accommodated upon availability.
A small ensemble of OKCPHIL musicians visit your school to perform! These interactive performances last just under an hour and can be modified to fit your schedule. Ensemble options range from string quartets to wind and mixed ensembles, and programming varies from ensemble to ensemble. Typical themes include explanations of instruments played, juxtaposition of musical genres, tempos, dynamics, form, etc. Performances are provided to schools in the greater OKC Metro Area upon availability. OKCPHIL Spotlight School
All Levels of Music Education
The Oklahoma City Philharmonic highlights a school or music education program at each Classics Concert! Free and/or discounted tickets are offered to program participants, and the staff, faculty, families, and alumni of the institution are provided a code to purchase discounted tickets online. During the concert, a representative from the music program(s) speaks along with with Maestro Mickelthwate on the Spotlight School’s music offerings, recent successes, and/or partnerships with the OKCPHIL. Opportunities for Maestro Mickelthwate to speak to and/or work with the Spotlight School students may be available in the weeks leading up to the concert.

Middle School Programs – TBD

The OKCPHIL is working to develop educational offerings that specifically target middle school orchestra and band students. To receive updates regarding program announcements, be sure to enroll in the Educator’s Club. Guest Artist Masterclasses
Open to the public, but best suited for High School, advanced Middle School, and University students
The OKCPHIL offers several masterclasses throughout each season with our featured guest artists where university music majors perform and receive feedback before an audience. Visit the OKCPHIL University Programs page for upcoming event details.
Schools, studios, and other groups are invited to attend together. Groups larger than 10 should RSVP at least one week in advance, and groups larger than 25 should RSVP at least one month in advance. RSVP by emailing education@okcphil.org. RSVP is not required for groups of less than 10 attendees. To receive updates regarding masterclasses, be sure to enroll in the Educator’s Club!
Group Concert Tickets
The OKCPHIL offers special deals on group tickets for schools and educational organizations, subject to availability. Email tickets@okcphil.org for more information.
Student Tickets
Students with a valid high school or college ID may purchase up to two $11 Student Tickets for each OKCPHIL concert! Student Rush tickets can be purchased in person at the Box Office on the evening of the performance, beginning 1 hour to curtain. Student discount vouchers can be purchased online beginning the Wednesday before the concert, securing you a seat. Vouchers may be redeemed for a ticket at the Box Office the evening of the performance. Best available seating is provided for Student Tickets.
