Jim Shelley In addition to being a cellist with the Philharmonic, Shelley has performed with Go for Baroque, Lyric Theatre, and Broadway national tours in Oklahoma City. He regularly plays with the Crossing Community Church Chapel Trio. He spent 18 years teaching orchestra in public schools, but left to spend more time with his cello and his other passion – fusing glass. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music Education from the UCO.
What do you like the most about living in OKC? Being in a place where I am able to play in a professional orchestra and pursue my other interests like being a glass artist with my own small business, JASWORX fused glass.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Song writing, playing guitar in a rock band, listening to Sasquatch stories, RV camping with my wife Melanie, and our cat, Sonny.
