Dr. Sophia Ro plays in the second violin section with the OKCPHIL. She is an active recitalist, chamber and orchestral musician, and a passionate educator. Born in Seoul, Korea, she moved to NYC to study at Manhattan School of Music in 1999. Subsequently she has received her Masters from Boston University and her Doctorate from the University of North Texas. Additionally she serves as concert master for the Oklahoma Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. Dr. Ro performs and teaches around the world, including such locations as New York, Boston, Dallas, San Francisco, Sacramento, Taiwan and Korea.
What would you like the OKCPHIL patrons to know about you? I can be bold and adventurous, and have endless passion for learning about myself and the world.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I love cooking and experimenting with recipes and creating my own. Recently I started cooking with vegan recipes but alternating with Korean seasonings.
