An original production created especially for the OKC Philharmonic by Music Director Emeritus and conductor Joel Levine, and Director Lyn Cramer, is held in high regard by other music institutions nationally. Says Executive Director Agnieszka Rakhmatullaev “The excellent reputation of The Christmas Show on a national scale is unmatched! To think a production of this quality is being produced in Oklahoma City and is available for all of us to enjoy without buying a ticket to New York City, is a special thing not to be taken for granted. We hope your family will join us in celebrating this special musical experience with the OKCPHIL.”
This year’s production features celebrated Broadway performer Max Von Essen who received accolades for his performance in American In Paris among other Broadway performances. These productions include Falsettos, the revival of Evita, Les Miserables and Jesus Christ Superstar. He released his debut album Call Me Old Fashioned in 2019. Says Director Lyn Cramer said about Von Essen “I think Max will bring an old fashioned elegance that we have never had in our show before. A lover of theatre’s Golden Age and the American songbook, he is a reflection of this timeless period and is nothing short of a class act.”
