OKCPHIL Inducts Renate Wiggin into the Maestro’s Circle
Oklahoma City—The Oklahoma City Philharmonic is proud to announce long-time supporter Renate Wiggin is the newest inductee into the Maestro’s Circle. The award was bestowed at the December meeting of the OKCPHIL Board of Directors, held in the home of Board President Jane Jayroe-Gamble.
“Renate’s passion for music and the OKC Philharmonic Orchestra is decades deep and miles wide,” Jayroe-Gamble said. “Her leadership and generosity, together with her husband Chuck, has enhanced our orchestra forever. She is so deserving of this honor.” Renate and Chuck became supporters of the Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra in 1978, and then the Oklahoma City Philharmonic in 1988.
“Whether it’s helping make the Symphony Show House a success, plan the OKCPHIL’s 25th Anniversary celebration in 2013 or join the Maestro’s Ball Committee—Renate always says ‘yes’ to whatever is asked of her,” said Brent Hart, OKCPHIL Past President. “She also played an important role in the searches for Music Director and Executive Director, helping identify the future leaders of this organization.”
Through a leadership gift, the Wiggins’ established the Wiggin Family Concert Fund to support audience development activities and experimental concert-based endeavors.
“Renate has always been willing to serve and does so with an infectious smile,” Hart said. “Her attention to detail ensures each activity or event is well-planned. Her generosity and countless volunteer hours will continue to make a difference for the OKCPHIL and our community for many years to come.”
Renate Wiggin is the fifth inductee into the Maestro’s Circle, following Joel Levine, Jose Freede, Eddie Walker and Jane B. Harlow.
