About the Artists
Misha Dichter, in his sixth decade of a celebrated international career, is one of America’s most admired pianists. A student of both Rosina Lhevinne at Juilliard and Aube Tzerko, a protégé of Artur Schnabel, Dichter bridges the traditions of Russian Romanticism and German Classical styles.
Gerard Schwarz is an award-winning conductor with a reputation for exceptional interpretations of 19th-century German, Austrian, and Russian repertoire, as well as contemporary American works. He currently serves as Music Director of the All-Star Orchestra and the Palm Beach Symphony, among others, and is the Distinguished Professor of Music at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
OKC Philharmonic Music Director Alexander Mickelthwate expressed his excitement: “Each season, we’re thrilled to welcome incredible guest artists. This year, it’s an honor to host Gerard Schwarz, a conductor with vast experience and artistry, alongside the legendary Misha Dichter, who has performed and recorded with some of the most illustrious conductors of the 20th and 21st centuries. It will truly be a remarkable evening.”
