“Oklahoma City Philharmonic Brings a Spirited Classical Showdown to the Stage”

Oklahoma City – The Oklahoma City Philharmonic invites audiences to an exhilarating night of musical mastery with Mozart’s Rivals: Race To The Top, taking place Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Music Hall.

This electric performance features rising star Hannah White on violin, and the powerful voices of Nicole Van Every, soprano, Catherine McDaniel, contralto, Jeffrey Picon, tenor, Mark McCrory, bass, and Canterbury Voices, as they join the OKCPHIL in an exploration of the thrilling musical rivalry that shaped Mozart’s time. From soaring melodies to dramatic orchestral flourishes, the concert shines a spotlight on the composers and competitors who challenged—and inspired—Mozart’s genius.

“The creative competition of Mozart’s time pushed composers to their limits and resulted in some of the most beautiful music ever written,” said Alexander Mickelthwate, Music Director of the OKCPHIL. “This concert brings that passion to life in a way that feels fresh, fiery, and very human.”

Whether you’re a seasoned classical music fan or new to the genre, Mozart’s Rivals promises an unforgettable evening of virtuosity, drama, and storytelling through sound.
