“Oklahoma City Philharmonic Explores Epic Worlds and Iconic Soundscapes”

Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City Philharmonic boldly goes where few orchestras have gone before with Symphonicon: Music from Comics, Sci-Fi and Video Games, live in concert Friday and Saturday, March 27-28, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Music Hall.

This thrilling, family-friendly concert will transport audiences into the soundscapes of their favorite fictional universes – featuring music from beloved video games, blockbuster movies, and legendary comic-inspired themes. From the heroic to the nostalgic, every note is a portal to adventure.

Symphonicon is a celebration of the bold, emotional, and cinematic worlds that inspire us,” said Alexander Mickelthwate, Music Director of the OKCPHIL. “These scores are today’s symphonies – composed to tell stories, stir emotion, and spark imagination.”

MC for the evening is Chris Martin, Founder of Oklahoma City’s Literati Press Co-op Bookshop, as well as comic book creator, screenwriter, and novelist. Three local choirs will perform: University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), Rose State, and Edmond Community Choir.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of gaming, a superhero superfan, or simply love a great night out, Symphonicon is the perfect mix of nostalgia, drama, and symphonic spectacle. Don your cosplay or favorite fandom t-shirt and experience an unforgettable fusion of pop culture and orchestral power.
