Be the Orchestra (Beginner)

Beginning Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass Course for Adults

Just for adults, this class is designed to teach violin, viola, cello, or bass basics to adult beginners. No experience is necessary. The eight-week course meets once a week on Monday evenings. Practicing outside of the course is suggested but not mandatory. Tuition includes all materials necessary for class and instrument rental options are available for those interested in violin, viola, and cello. Beginning courses are offered once a year in the fall with classes beginning in late August /early September. Be The Orchestra is taught by Dr. Rob Bradshaw. Be the Orchestra (Intermediate)

Intermediate Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass Course for Adults

This class is designed for those who have completed the Oklahoma City Philharmonic’s beginning violin, viola, cello, or bass course in the fall or for more advanced beginners. The eight-week course meets once a week on Monday evenings. Practicing outside of the course is suggested, but not mandatory. Tuition includes all materials necessary for class and instrument rental options are available for those interested in violin, viola, and cello. Intermediate courses are offered once a year in the spring with classes beginning in January. Be The Orchestra is taught by Dr. Rob Bradshaw.

Be the Orchestra graduates or those with prior instrumental experience may be invited to participate in one of the following ensembles, collectively called Society of Strings. For more information contact our education department at education@okcphil.org or 405-232-7575.

Registration Form | Fall 2020

· Adult Beginning Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass courses held every Monday for 7 weeks, beginning on Friday, November 6, 2020.
· Courses will take place virtually for Fall 2020. Staff and instructors will devote the first class session to orienting participants to the virtual platform and how classes will operate.
· We recommend instrument rentals through Inter-City Violin (405.528.4044). Please mention your participation in “Be the Orchestra with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic” to claim a discount.
· This form must be submitted and payment received by November 2, 2020 to participate in the program.
· There are no refunds once classes begin.
