Community Engagement

Instrument Playground

On Pause for the 2020-2021 Season

Engaging thousands of children across the OKC Metro in the magic of making sound on an instrument, often for the first time, Instrument Playground is an interactive orchestral experience that provides families the opportunity to explore the instruments of the orchestra. With instruments from all four families represented (strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion), the learning and smiles are endless. Our Instrument Playground has appeared at community events such as the State Fair of Oklahoma, the Junior League’s Mistletoe Market, OU Children Hospital’s Mistletoe Market, and Science Museum Oklahoma’s Tinker fest. Instrument Playground can be found at each of our Discovery Family Series Concerts (link to Discovery Family Series ticket page)for an hour prior to the start of the concert, and is free with each ticket to a Discovery Family Series Concert. If you are interested in scheduling the Instrument Playground for your next event, please email the Education Coordinator at education@okcphil.org
